Soy Candles Burn Longer! But how much longer?
We estimate the burn time at a lower per hour rate (10 hours per ounce of
wax) to ensure our statements are fair. However in conducting our own
tests as well as receiving customer feedback, we have not experienced less
than a 12 hour burn time per ounce of soy wax. We like to exceed your
expectations in burning our candles.
Soy Candles burn approximately 25-50% longer than those made of
paraffin. (Depending on the quality of the paraffin wax as well as the
care taking of any candle.)
This is due to the fact that soy wax has a lower melting point than
paraffin.
Least estimated burn times for our candles are as follows:
4 oz. Hexagon Jar - Approximately 40 to 48 Hours
8 oz. Apothecary Jar - Approximately 80 to 96 Hours
12 oz. Apothecary Jar - Approximately 120 to 144 Hours
16 oz. Mason Jar - Approximately 128 To 160 Hours
18 oz. Apothecary Jar - Approximately 144 to 180 Hours
22 oz. Apothecary Jar - Approximately 220 to 260 Hours
28 oz. Apothecary Jar - Approximately 280 to 400 Hours
Average yield in actual testing shows our candles use 0.12 ounces of wax, or
less, per hour while burning. (10 to 12 hours per ounce on average)
Therefore, a 28 ounce candle will burn over 280 hours on average for a single
wick. To achieve this time, wicks were trimmed to 1/4" and were burned for a
2 hour period each time the candle was lit. No drafts were present during any
burn time. Room was heated to 70 degrees.
Note: All times are approximate. Actual burn times depend upon many factors
such as air drafts, age of candle, style of container, type of wick, scent,
trimmed wick and room temperature. No candle company can guarantee an
exact burn time. These are homemade candles so this information is
intended to give you an estimate however, we promise to use what we feel
is the highest quality soy wax, cotton wicks and fragrance. Our goal is to
